The initial consultation is a 30-minute meeting, and I can usually schedule you in within 14 days, sometimes sooner. I aim to answer all queries within 48 hours.
I provide remote sessions via a secure therapy software to which a link is given on the day of your first session. This is not Zoom or Teams. I do not use WhatsApp or FaceTime for sessions.
They are separate approaches but sometimes therapy can turn into coaching. I will always assess as we go along. The Inner Shift is a specialist programme that combines takes a holistic approach.
The Inner Shift™ is a one-to-one recovery process for professionals who are being worn down, undermined or emotionally affected by a toxic workplace. It is a structured, steady space where we stabilise your system, rebuild your sense of self, assess what is in 'play' at your workplace, and create a plan for your next steps.
No. Many people start The Inner Shift™ while they are still in the environment that is harming them. You do not need to make any major decisions before we begin. We stabilise first, rebuild second, and decide your next steps from a place of strength not panic.
Yes. The Inner Shift™ is designed for people whose system is in freeze, collapse or emotional shutdown. You don’t need energy, motivation or clarity to start. You only need to be willing to reach begin to change your circumstances.
The pace depends entirely on you. The framework has four phases: Stabilise, Reclaim, Strategise and Integrate. But we move through them as your system allows. This is not rushed work. It is paced to prevent overwhelm and build real, lasting change. In this way it differs from coaching as such, but there are some parallels as its a holistic approach.
It is specialised recovery work combining therapeutic principles, psychological understanding, lived expertise and nervous-system regulation. It goes deeper than coaching and is more focused and practical than traditional therapy. It is designed specifically for workplace trauma.
That’s normal. Toxic workplaces often involve layers of politics, gaslighting, shifting narratives, favouritism and subtle psychological harm such as micro-aggression and bullying. You do not need to sort any of that before we begin. We untangle it together and identify what’s real and what’s conditioning. It is eye-opening work and you will be surprised by what is uncovered.
You will receive simple practices designed to support your stability and sense of self between sessions. These are not tasks to impress me. They are tools to help your system recover. Everything is optional and tailored to your capacity.
Then we work with that, gently. Collapse, silence and overwhelm are survival responses and not personal failures. The process is designed to move at a pace your system can handle. You don’t need to perform or explain yourself perfectly.
If you’re experiencing crisis-level symptoms such as suicidal thoughts, psychosis or severe mental instability, it is imperative that you seek medical and psychiatric support. The Inner Shift™ is not a crisis service. If you’re unsure, contact your doctor immediately or go to A&E who will be able to assess your condition for the appropriate treatment.
No. This work requires commitment from both of us, and once we begin, the space is held for you. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready, please reach out first so we can discuss your situation before you commit. I will only take on those who can commit to regular weekly sessions. A contract between us will be made and both of us are expected to honour it. This is your health and well-being and safety we are addressing and it is taken seriously. My professional practice has a constant waiting list and therefore to be fair to everyone, I can only take on those who are committed to working to make their lives better.
Yes, if your therapist is aware and supportive. The Inner Shift™ focuses specifically on workplace trauma, identity erosion and survival responses of which many therapists are not trained nor do they specialise in workplace trauma, bullying or harassment.
No. This work is entirely for you. It is about stabilising your system, rebuilding your identity and helping you navigate decisions safely. The program that was on offer for one year in 2022 was 1:1 support within your workplace for neurodiverse professionals, but that contract was for one year. I still take some of this work on when my schedule allows. The Inner Shift™ is a different program all together.
Then you are the exact person this process was designed for, and I hope to work with you soon.
Most people doubt themselves. If you’re questioning your confidence, constantly apologising, or slowly disappearing inside yourself, something is happening. If you have physical symptoms such as lack of sleep, irritability, loosing or gaining weight, new habits, then this may be more than stress, but it needs an assessment. We explore your situation with grounded, non-judgmental clarity so you can understand the truth of what you’re experiencing.
