A Private Recovery Community for People Harmed by Organisational Abuse

Expert-led. Peer-supported. No quick fixes, just real, structured recovery.

Sha talks Inner Shift

When Work Becomes Harmful, You Need More Than Advice

If you are functioning on the outside but falling apart inside, you are not alone.

Workplace bullying, coercive management, gaslighting, and chronic emotional threat change how your nervous system operates. Over time, they affect sleep, thinking, confidence, and identity.

Behind The Toxic Workplace exists to help you stabilise, understand what has happened, and rebuild yourself with clarity and support.

This is not an open support group.

It is a structured recovery environment guided by specialist oversight.

A Community With a Clear Way Through

Behind the Toxic Workplace is not an open-ended support group. It is expert-led alongside peer support.

The private community have access to a comprehensive, video-led recovery course designed to be followed at your own pace.

The course includes multiple modules, guided practices, and accompanying worksheets to help you understand what has happened, stabilise your nervous system, and rebuild clarity, confidence, and internal safety over time.

Members are supported as they move through the material, and a certificate of completion is available at the end of the programme.

Some members choose to access additional live support as part of their recovery.

Let's Name The Problem

Workplace bullying is not about resilience or confidence.
It is a form of prolonged psychological threat that dysregulates the nervous system, distorts self-perception, and creates survival responses that look like anxiety, rumination, shutdown, or hyper-vigilance.

Here's what traditional advice looks like:

Traditional advice often fails because it treats this as a mindset issue rather than a neurobiological and psychological injury.

What people tell you to do

  • Just leave and go get another job.

  • Stop being so sensitive.

  • Grow a thick skin.

  • Just ignore them.

  • Are you sure you're not making more of the situation?

  • It's normal to but heads when you first start.

  • They probably didn't mean what they say.

  • All managers are like that.

  • Don't say anything or you could lose your job.

  • Just don't talk to them.

  • Write them a letter telling them how you feel.

  • Explain your side of the story.

Is this advice or another way of saying, 'You are the problem, you don't even know how to handle people.' With some good intentions, everyone is not equipped to handle bullies. We can't expect everyone to understand what harassment, micro-management, gas-lighting, or bullying is like. Most people don't believe that adults behave this way. This type of advice can leave you feeling much worse, helpless and hopeless.

In the meantime

  • You can barely get out of bed in the morning.

  • You are teary and cry at the drop of a hat.

  • You feel physically ill most days but there is no diagnosis.

  • Your voice is now shaking when you speak.

  • Your opinion is being ignored.

  • People keep talking over you purposefully.

  • More than one person is bullying you.

  • The bully is stealing your ideas and making them their own.

  • Your manager has lied about you and to you.

  • You want to hand in your notice but you can't financially.

  • You are applying for jobs but aren't getting any further.

  • Your mind is consumed with thinking about it.

Your mental health and well-being as well as your physical health is taking a hit and you are feeling trapped. You may even feel as thought you have no option but to leave, without having sufficient funds to keep you going. You may even get into severe debt because you are being harmed at work. Your company is toxic and has been so for a long-time, because toxicity breeds toxicity. You need support. You need a plan. You need a community.

A Community of Containment, Not Just Content

Why

Behind The Toxic Workplace

Is Different

Behind the Toxic Workplace is a private, professionally held recovery space for people experiencing or recovering from workplace bullying and psychological harm.

This is different from anything offered to help you to recover your nervous system and learn skills to support you as you go through it.

It is also:

  • Psychology-led, not motivational

  • Expert-led alongside peer support

  • Nervous system aware

  • Practical and emotionally safe

  • No public exposure, no performative sharing

  • Member agreements of safety and confidentiality

  • Go at your own pace

  • Boundaries driven

  • Members safety first

  • Course material based on 30 years' experience

  • Proven strategies and techniques

Hi, I'm Sha

With my close to 30 years’ clinical, as a Specialist Therapist and Forensic Recovery Consultant with forensic and neurological expertise, I am will not offer this on a public platform. You deserve more. You need to be protected from your company lurking in shadows, checking your social media and trying to find your comments on YouTube.

This is specialist material that I’ve gained from being in the trenches, working as a group therapist in the NHS for many years in two specialist neurologist-recovery teams, working with personality disorders in specialist teams, my private practice work as a therapist, my over a decade of independent mental capacity advocacy work and supervisor in court cases, and my personal experiences working within organisations that were challenging and toxic. I know first-hand what it's like to lose sovereignty.  Through the course and through the community support, I provide specialist experience in psychological harm, nervous system recovery, and workplace dynamics, alongside lived experience of what this kind of environment does to capable people.

I know how to spot the narcissistic bully, the mob, the gas-lighter and the manipulator, and this is through my clinical experience. I've made resources available to you that will help you to do so as well, whilst supporting your nervous system recovery. I've been in the room when someone has been diagnosed with a personality disorder or other behavioural problem. This is rare. I've been offering one-to-one support through my Inner Shift program for many years. And now its time it was available to reach more people, hence this course and community. I hope to see you there.

"When you're being harmed at work, its a though you cannot believe its happening to you. You want someone to jump in to help. But they don't. Some sit around watching, in a voyeur spectator way. I've been in those rooms as a mediator and witnessed it. I was the one having to propose reasonable adjustments for the person. Company's haven't a clue. Join our community and you will find support, guidance and a course that will help you get yourself back. Work is taking more from you than it every gave."

A Guided Recovery Path

The Recovery Model (Plain and Simple)

This isn’t a content library. It’s a recovery space. If you stay and engage, here’s what changes:

  1. You understand what’s happening in your body and mind and put language to it

  2. You stabilise (even if only during evenings and weekends at first)

  3. You name what you’re dealing with (gaslighting, bullying, coercion, systemic abuse)

  4. You get clear about what’s in front of you

  5. You draw boundaries without collapsing

  6. You start planning a future on solid ground

  7. You rebuild your sense of self

  8. You plan forward from a place of internal safety

  9. You see yourself clearly again

This isn’t mass-market. It’s specialised recovery.
If this is what you’ve been looking for. Join now.

Real Outcomes Witnessed

Before the community even launched, here’s what private 1:1 clients achieved:

  • Regained the capacity to speak up in meetings

  • Left toxic environments without collapse

  • Slept through the night for the first time in months

  • Stopped internalising the abuse and blaming themselves

  • Reclaimed personal identity

  • Called out manipulation early

  • Understood what real gaslighting looked like and able to call it out

  • Asked for and got what they needed at work

  • Regained their confidence in their skills

Now, this community offers a way to access that same recovery path with the power of peer connection and expert support.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

Before you join, here are the most common questions asked. These will help you understand how the community and course works and what to expect. Everything has been designed to keep you safe, grounded, and supported throughout.

❓ What if I’m afraid of being judged or retraumatised?

This isn’t a public group. It is private. All posts are moderated. You set your own pace. Just observing is okay.

❓ What if I don’t know what to say?

You’re not expected to perform or educate anyone or even encourage or give advice. Just being here is enough to start.

❓ What if others are intense or triggering?

My moderation is strict. I won’t allow harm, chaos, or venting at others. Ever. I can spot any type of aggression by tone and words and I would act immediately. Though I am confident that people who join this space are not likely to display this behaviour, I will still monitor closely.

❓ What if I’m overwhelmed?

Then this is the perfect space for you. You don’t need to do anything but be here. You don't have to “catch up”in the course. It's self-paced. You just need to start. I encourage you to take it in bits. Participate in discussions when it feels right.

❓Can I just be in the community and not do the course?

It is recommended that you do the course as it fully supports your recovery. However, there is no time limit to when to start or finish the course. You may chose to join the community for a few months and then start the course. Your choice. Some people will find comfort from just being in this supportive community with my input.

❓ What if I want a session with Sha?

I will be providing live sessions once a month for Strategists as this comes with their membership. If you want to delve deeper, you can apply to The Inner Shift which is Sha's signature program of 1:1 sessions. More on that here.

❓Do you offer refunds?

No. Due to the digital nature of the course materials and the immediate access you receive upon joining, as well as the training, all sales are final and non-refundable. Please make sure you are fully committed before joining. If you have questions before joining, you’re welcomed to contact me for clarity.

❓ What if I have questions during the training?

I have structured the course so that there will always be time for questions and reflections. Everyone evolves at their own pace and development. I support you whatever your needs during and after the training. Leave me a message or video. You can also ask other students for peer support.

What Comes Next: The Inner Shift

Some people will need more than community.
They might be too dysregulated to engage safely with others or they might be ready for deeper, private integration work.

That’s where my signature 1:1 program, The Inner Shift, begins.

Application-only.
You’ll know you’re ready when:

  • You’re stabilised enough to go inward

  • You’re not looking for fixing, but truth

  • You’ve outgrown peer support alone

The Inner Shift™ is a structured 1:1 therapeutic programme designed for people who have been living under prolonged stress, pressure, overwhelm or emotional strain, and who are ready to regain stability, clarity and self-trust.

This is not a course to complete, nor a process to rush. It is a guided pathway paced around readiness rather than timelines, and tailored to you as an individual.

The intention of this work is sustainable change, not short-term relief that needs revisiting.

  • Sessions are responsive to you

  • Tools and practices are introduced intentionally

  • The work adapts as you stabilise and strengthen

  • You are guided rather than left to self-manage

You will only be given practices, tools or recordings that are appropriate to the stage you are in.
